9 Sensor Types in IoT

Temperature Sensor:

Thermistors, thermocouples, integrated circuits (ICs) and resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) are among the devices used to measure changes in temperature of an object or a specific area. Temperature sensors are used in every device used for environmental control, such as smart thermostats in the Internet of Things.

Humidity Sensor:

These meters measure ambient humidity in terms of dew/frost point (D/F/PT), relative humidity (RH) and parts per million (PPM). In IoT, smart humidifiers respond to input and add moisture.

motion sensor:

Motion sensors are one of the most common in IoT, used in safety systems and in automation: saving energy by activating devices only when needed. gas sensor:

To maximize accuracy, these techniques use electrochemical, semiconductor and photoionization techniques for gas detection. In IoT, they not only help to provide high indoor air quality, but also detect deadly gases (such as CO) and even combustible gases (such as LPG, CH4, H2).

smoke sensor:

Smoke sensors are an important part of IoT smart smoke detectors, which are more reliable and responsive than traditional sensors. Pressure Sensor:

Today, these devices are essential for smartphones, portable game consoles, smart watches, and more. Using it, you can detect the orientation, pan, tap, motion, tilt and positioning of objects. They are made of piezoelectric, piezoresistive or capacitive elements that convert mechanical motion into electrical signals.

Infrared sensor

You can use them to measure the heat emitted by objects. These features allow you to use your smartphone as a remote control and help the smartwatch detect the amount of light.

Proximity sensor

If you need to detect nearby objects and their properties without physical contact, you can rely on proximity sensors. They are ideal for IoT projects in the retail industry - in supermarkets, they can monitor the distance between customers and certain products on the shelf.
