Comparative analysis of DTU and RTU?

There are often two products in the wireless communication network industry, DTU and RTU, then what is DTU? What is RTU, and what are the characteristics of DTU and RTU?

What is RTU:

RTU (RemoteTerminalUnit) is the core device that constitutes an enterprise's integrated automation system. It is usually composed of signal input/output modules, microprocessors, wired/wireless communication equipment, power supplies, and shells. What is DTU:

DTU is the abbreviation of DataTransferunit. The Chinese name is data transmission unit. It is used to transparently transmit data from PLC and other lower-level devices to the server at the remote end. It is specifically used to convert serial data to IP data or to convert IP data to serial data. A wireless terminal device that transmits through the GPRS communication network. DTU is widely used in meteorology, hydrology and water conservancy, geology and other industries, mainly to transmit smaller data.

The characteristics of DTU are:

RTU is an analog quantity acquisition terminal module. It is a device that collects analog variables and converts them into digital format through A/D. DTU generally can only transmit standard 232 and 485 data, and RTU can only convert analog data into serial data after collecting .DTU is a data transmission device, and RTU is a data acquisition device. The division of labor between the two is clear and easier to distinguish.
