But there are also significant differences between the two, and the difference between the two is mainly distinguished from three aspects: appearance interface, usage method and application environment.
1. Appearance interface The appearance interface of 4G industrial routers usually has a network port, which provides wireless networking functions for network port devices and requires active access by the network port device to complete data transmission. Usually 4G router routers will provide multiple network interface methods such as WAN port, LAN or freely switchable WAN/LAN port. You can customize the matching interface method according to the connection method in the project.
2. How to use 4G industrial routers can convert Ethernet and fieldbus communication protocols. You only need to set the IP address designated by the 4G router as a gateway in the terminal device. If the designated IP address (or designated IP address segment) is not set, the communication function cannot be realized. The main purpose of 4GDTU is to realize dial-up, not a gateway in the sense. For example, after the 4G DTU is connected to the terminal device to complete the dial-up link, the 4G DTU can be used as a new network device, and the terminal device address can use this 4G DTU binding address.
3. Application environment 4G industrial routers usually have VPN/APN functions and private network encryption. In addition, industrial 4G routers with WIFI function are suitable for outdoor WIFI wireless signal coverage projects and similar bus WIFI, shopping mall WIFI sharing projects. The 4GDTU application in the field terminal has a relatively scattered transmission distance, and the data communication rate is relatively high, so the real-time performance of 4GDTU can satisfy most industrial fields, and it is usually used as a data acquisition and monitoring system. Such as charging pile remote monitoring system, environmental monitoring system, real-time energy consumption monitoring, dam water conservancy project monitoring application, etc.
4. Terminal equipment data access interface. The 4G industrial router provides a network interface for data access. The terminal equipment only needs to use the IP address of the 4G router network port as the gateway, and the terminal equipment must use the designated IP address Or specify the address in the IP address segment, the 4G router can exchange data with the server host of the designated IP address or the server host in the IP address segment, and the 4G router cannot communicate with all other unset addresses.
5. The data access of 4G DTU generally also provides a serial port or network interface, but their purpose is for dialing, not used as a gateway in the sense, for example, the 4G DTU of the serial interface is completed in the access terminal device After dialing, 4G DTU is regarded as a new network device of the terminal device, and the address of the terminal device uses the address bound to the new network device; and the 4G DTU of the network interface is similar to the telecommunications ADSL Internet access, and generally requires the device to complete one Dialing action.
