1. Appearance comparison between 4G router and 4G DTU

Appearance interface The appearance interface of the 4G router usually has a network port, which provides wireless networking functions for the network port device, and requires the network port device to actively access the center to complete the data transmission. Usually 4G router routers will provide a variety of network interface methods of WAN port, LAN or freely switchable WAN/LAN port. You can customize the way to complete the matching interface according to the connection method in the project.

The appearance interface of 4G DTU generally only provides serial interface networking mode. 4G DTU is mainly used for bidirectional transparent transmission between serial port data and IP data. 2. Comparison of 4G routers and 4G DTU usage

The 4G router can convert the Ethernet and fieldbus communication protocols. It only needs to set the IP address specified by the 4G router as the gateway in the terminal device. If the specified IP address (or specified IP address segment) is not set, the communication function cannot be realized. The main purpose of 4G DTU is to implement dial-up, not a gateway in the true sense. For example, after the 4G DTU is connected to the terminal device and completes the dialing process, the 4G DTU can be used as a new network device, and the terminal device address can use the 4G DTU binding address.

4G routers usually have VPN/APN functions and private network encryption. 7. Transmission security of 4G routers and 4G DTU terminal equipment

The terminal device using the 4G router must use the specified IP address, and any other address cannot communicate; after the data of the terminal device passes through the 4G router, the encrypted content is transmitted using the wireless network, and the intercepted content in the wireless network is intercepted. The transmitted data cannot generally be decrypted, and the encrypted data can only be decrypted correctly by the designated communication server; at the same time, all data has a unique corresponding serial number and other key processing, and the 4G router ensures that the terminal device data will not be replayed or replayed. send.

There is no such restriction on the IP address used by the terminal equipment using 4G DTU, so as long as the IP address can be assigned, it can communicate with the server system.
