What are the basic functions of DTU?
With the rapid development of the Internet of Things, 4G DTU is also widely used in PLC wireless communication; automatic control of data acquisition equipment, monitoring equipment, medical equipment and electronic instruments; automatic meter reading and charging systems for water, electricity, gas, and heating; LED screen wireless Transmission of text, pictures and wireless control; alarm monitoring PTZ control, access control and attendance card reader, etc. Today we will take a look at what are the basic functions of DTU?
(1) Internally integrated TCP/IP protocol stack
There are external protocol stacks and built-in protocol stacks, most of them on the market are external protocol stacks. TCP/IP protocol stack can be understood as a combination of wireless modem and embedded PC. Allow DTU to have dial-up Internet access and TCP/IP data communication functions.
(2) Two-way conversion of serial port data
Support the conversion of common serial ports such as RS232, RS485, RS422 into TCP/IP data, and transmit it. Since it is two-way transparent transmission, it is natural to convert TCP/IP data into the above-mentioned common serial ports.
(3) Support custom heartbeat package
One of the advantages of GPRS communication network is to support the permanent online terminal equipment, so the typical DTU is designed to support the permanent online function. This requires the DTU to include automatic dialing and heartbeat data packets to make it permanently online (when there is no data for a long time).
(4) Parameter configuration and permanent storage
In different applications, the data center's IP address, port number, and serial port baud rate are different. This feature allows DTU terminal equipment to support parameter configuration, and the configured parameters can be stored permanently, mainly stored in internal permanent storage devices, such as common FLASH or EEPROM. After the user turns on, DTU will automatically work according to the set parameters.
In addition, common DTU functions include active collection of data and reporting, support for point-to-point, point-to-multiple networking, and digital radio networking, etc.
Through 4G DTU equipment, the user’s local serial port data can easily use different 4G network standards such as TD-LTE or FDD-LTE to achieve wireless, long-distance data transmission, and perform data interaction with remote public network servers, which are mainly used for remote In scenarios such as data collection and remote control projects.
